ABOUT JP CATTLE COMPANY
JP Cattle Company was a vision started by Candace and Richard Wilkins. The 'JP' in the name JP Cattle Company is a combination of their two daughter's middle names, Brynlee Paige and Berkley Jade. They had the opportunity 3 years ago to purchase a great group of 2 and 3 year old bred registered cattle from Roy and Trudy Hartzog with Running Water Land and Cattle Company. These foundational genetics are critical to JP Cattle Company's success in breeding and raising Angus bulls and females that can survive in the tough and arid West Texas Climate. In addition to being the owners of JP Cattle Company, Richard and Candace are also partners with Richard's mom and step dad, Mary and Eddy Roby, in Roby-Wilkins Cattle Company. Roby-Wilkins Cattle Company is a 300 head commercial cow/calf operation and has seen dramatic genetic increases from the use of JP Cattle Company bulls in the program. JP Cattle Company truly is a family business, Richard's mom Mary oversees the day to day operations, and his girls can be found in the pen feeding bulls, or helping load moma cows headed to be AI'd.
The future is important to us and we understand the impact that 'bad' genetics can have on your herd. Our family's goal is to leave both our Registered and Commercial operation to our girls, Brynlee and Berkley. We trust our genetics enough to determine the future for our girls.
We don't pen raise our cattle for pictures or sale books. Our bulls and females are raised in the exact environment that we expect them to perform in, pasture with minimal feed supplementation.
